Hasegawa Kodaka has transferred schools, and he's having a hard time making friends. It doesn't help that his blond hair tends to make people think he's a delinquent. One day, he runs into his bad-tempered solitary classmate Yozora while she's talking animatedly to her imaginary friend Tomo. Realizing that neither of them have any actual friends, they decide that the best way to alter this situation is to form a club and start recruiting. That is how "Rinjinbu", The Neighbours' Club, was formed, a club specifically designed for people who don't have very many friends. As other lonely classmates slowly join their little club, they'll try to learn how to build friendships through cooking together, playing games, and other group activities. But will this group of relationship-challenged misfits really be able to get along?

Movie
Nishimura Hideki is a young man who once confesses to a person he thinks is a girl online, only to find out that the person is actually a boy. He keeps this story secret and swears he'll never trust a girl online again. However, one day a girl online confesses to him, and it turns out she is actually a beautiful girl named Tamaki Ako. Ako cannot tell the difference between the online world and reality, and she is a loner who has trouble communicating. Hideki and his friends from the guild decide to work together in order to help her.

Ichirou Satou, a second-year high school student, was nothing out of the ordinary until he found himself in some exceptional situations with his teacher, Kana "The Demon" Kojima. Kojima is Satou's Japanese language teacher, notorious for her ruthlessness, to the point that even delinquents within the school tread with caution around her. One seemingly ordinary day, Satou and Kojima cross paths in the restroom, and their encounter leads to an intimate moment that leaves Satou's mind reeling for days after. Nande Koko ni Sensei ga? chronicles the daily happenings of Satou and his teacher, who continue to bump into each other in similar circumstances. Their encounters only draw them closer and closer with each passing day.
